We had to do it. We'd come this far and there were no excuses now no matter how bad everyone says agra is. The original plan was to get to agra early, see the taj, spend the day in a bar or something then board our train to lucknow. We did have a great idea to get a train all the way from agra to njp (near darjeeling) but this being holiday time for locals, we had no chance of a ticket. We took an overnight bus to agra which i was dreading. I had come down with delhi belly a few hours before and had to hold myself the entire journey. So instead of seeing the taj early we bolted into a hotel room where i could deal with myself in peace. After a few hours glued to the toilet and a handful of imodiums later we braved it, and it was so worth it. So many cliches to mention but the pictures, no picture in fact would do it justice. It wasnt too busy and the streets and touts were no where near as bad as we'd had anticipated. So very glad we made the effort.
